The Office of Divine Worship serves as a resource for the celebration of the Sacred Liturgy throughout the Diocese of Lafayette-in-Indiana.
The office assists the bishop with the preparation and planning of all the liturgical celebrations in the diocese for which he is the celebrant. This also includes the principal diocesan celebrations at the Cathedral of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception.
The Office of Divine Worship assists pastors and those in parishes and schools who are responsible for sacramental and liturgical preparation and celebration. This assistance includes directives, consultation, and workshops.
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)
The office assists with the formation of leaders in the RCIA process and the diocesan celebration of the RCIA. Additionally, the office provides on-going direction for liturgical celebrations in parishes.
Formation of Liturgical Ministers
The Office of Divine Worship supports the training of liturgical ministers for all institutions throughout the diocese. While all parishes and institutions maintain their own records of active liturgical ministers, the Office of Divine Worship sponsors workshops and reflection days for parish coordinators and their ministers.
Liturgical Music
The Office of Divine Worship plans the liturgical music for all diocesan celebrations and facilitates formation opportunities for liturgical musicians.
