Advocate
We are currently seeking candidates for an Advocate in our Ecclesiastical Tribunal located in Lafayette, IN. Ideal candidate will assist both English and Spanish-speaking Plaintiffs starting a nullity case in the diocese, including drafting formal documents and translating all documents needed.
Ecclesiastical Tribunal

Essential Duties: - Accepts applications, drafts procedural documents and citations.
- Receives and organizes all documents submitted by parties and assists in preparing cases for conclusion and ecclesiastical briefs.
- Assists with correspondence/communication with plaintiffs, respondents, and witnesses.
- Logs queries and communications.
- Tracks and records case progress.
- Prepares Summary of the Acts to be given to the Judges for decision.
- Records the Acts digitally at the end of every case.
- Functions additionally as an Ecclesiastical Notary, insuring the authenticity of case documents and testimony, and translating oral and written testimony into English.
- Facilitates the efficient and timely processing of all cases at any stage, including during the appeal process in Second Instance or the Roman Rota.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. A bachelor’s degree in office administration, business, management or related area is helpful.
Work Experience: Three years of office management, legal administrative, or related experience preferred.
Other Skills and Abilities:- Ability to speak, read, and write effectively in both English and Spanish
- Must be a practicing Catholic in good standing.
- Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, able to collaborate with others.
- Willingness to achieve familiarity with Canon Law.
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of clergy, employees and the public.
- Able to honor and maintain confidentiality.

Manager of Family Life
Catholic Pastoral Center

The Diocese of Lafayette in Indiana is looking for a dynamic leader to help transform the diocese through its families. Studies indicate that there is a direct correlation between the strength and quality of family life and the health of the Church. We are seeking a qualified individual to bring about the new evangelization through the families in our diocese. We need a leader who is passionate about families and the Catholic faith and can equip our parishes as they minister to families. Specifically, we are looking for someone who desires to form and maintain marriages as a community of life and love, prepare parents to be leaders in the domestic Church and heal wounded families impacted by the cultural realities.

Youth Ministry Specialist

We are currently seeking candidates for the part-time position of Youth Ministry Specialist located at our Catholic Pastoral Center in Lafayette, IN. This is a 20-hour diocesan position which will oversee diocesan efforts in forming youth and youth minsters.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Advocate for the importance of youth ministry and assist pastorates in the formation of a robust, evangelizing youth formation process.
- Maintain communication with and facilitate spiritual formation of youth ministers through small group and one-on-one meetings.
- Plan and lead professional development opportunities for youth ministers (e.g., Campference, Youth Ministry Summit, etc.).
- Lead the planning teams for annual youth events for middle- and high-schoolers (e.g., NCYC, Encounter, etc.), and serve as an advocate / advisor to other major pastorate-hosted youth events (e.g., Destination Jesus).
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in theology or a related field
- 5 years of experience in youth ministry setting or comparable experience
- Strong written, oral, and digital communication skills
- A working knowledge of Roman Catholic terminology and practices
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of employees and volunteers
- Respect & ability to uphold the teachings of the Catholic Church
- Ability to honor and maintain confidentiality
- Successful completion of diocesan child safety protocols
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Able to work on a flexible schedule including nights, evenings, and weekends as required.- Depending on employee’s location, consideration may be given for working from home.
- Able to drive across the 24 counties of the diocese as needed.

Freelance Writers
The Catholic Moment is currently looking for freelance writers who could contribute stories for our faith-filled, themed, biweekly newspaper. Those who have previous experience writing third-person, feature stories are encouraged to send a writing sample to moment@dol-in.org. Please also include your home pastorate and involvement with your parish/background with the Faith. At this time we are not looking for first-person reflections.
