Coordinator of Children’s Faith Formation (part-time)

We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Coordinator of Children's Faith Formation at St. Mary Catholic Church, a parish in the Anderson Alexandria Pastorate in Alexandria, IN. This person will provide support and initiative to programs that offer the opportunity for children’s faith formation and development as missionary disciples of Jesus Christ. This position averages 10 hours a week, with 4 hours dedicated to onsite office hours.
Essential Duties:
1. Creates faith formation opportunities, through classes, retreats, vacation bible school, etc. for students age preschool through 5th grade. This includes students in our Catholic school, however particular focus is to be directed toward children not currently attending St. Mary Catholic School.
2. Recruits and provides support and supervision of catechists/volunteers.
3. Facilitates communication with parents and parish staff regarding upcoming Religious Education programming and provides assistance/answers questions.
4. Assists in the preparation of Sacramental liturgical celebrations for children.
5. Increases involvement in wider community outreach.
6. Coordinates team to plan and implement annual Vacation Bible School program.
7. Promotes spirituality, prayer, and worship among children, catechists and families.
8. Prepares materials, sets up and is present for parent meetings, retreats, programs, classes, and other events/programs for Faith Formation ministries.
9. Ensures adherence to the protocols and directives of the Church, including Safe and Sacred compliance.
10. Oversees enrollment, attendance, record keeping, catechesis certificates, file updates, etc. Maintains records of participation in catechetical programs and sacrament preparation.
11. Engages in ongoing professional formation; keeps informed of trends in catechetical ministry, theology and methodology in ministry.
12. Establishes set weekly office hours.
13. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience:
1. A high school diploma or equivalent is required plus 2 to 4 years experience working with children. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
2. Supervision experience and the ability to work cooperatively with small groups and volunteers.
3. Ability to interact and work effectively with volunteers, supervisor, staff, and parishioners
4. Outstanding written and verbal communication as well as strong organizational skills
5. Ability to work effectively with technology, especially with Microsoft Office applications.
6. Practicing Catholic who respects and upholds Catholic Church teaching.
7. Commitment to honoring and maintaining confidentiality.
8. Compliance with diocesan child safety protocol.
9. Be good stewards of the resources entrusted to the position, including the most effective use of time and talents.

Middle School Coordinator (part-time)

High School Youth Minister

Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church is seeking a full-time High School Youth Minister. This position will work as part of an experienced and skilled Youth and Young Adult Ministry team of three to coordinate high school youth ministry and preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation. Youth Minister (part-time)

The Muncie Pastorate is seeking a part time youth minister. This position reports to the Director of Evangelization. This position will serve to support the pastorate to ensure that opportunities for ongoing faith formation for middle school and high school aged youth and a comprehensive youth ministry program are provided for the pastorate. This person will work with the Pastor and Director of Evangelization to ensure that necessary collaboration and cross training occurs among all areas of ministry and discipleship.
