Prayer for the Protection of Youth 

Loving and Gracious God,

We praise and thank you for your abundant gifts!  We thank you for the opportunities we have to serve you each day of our lives.  We know that everything that we are and everything that we have comes from you.
 
Today we focus on the precious gifts of young people entrusted to our care.  They fill us with joy and inspiration and challenge!  We know that you have given us awesome responsibilities in protecting and caring for them as well as teaching them your ways.  Guide us in all that we do and say, so that every child and young person can grow in wisdom and love for you.  Help us to create an environment in which all children are safe from anyone who seeks to harm them.
 
As parish leaders, help us to convince others of the need to ensure the protection of children.  Guide us in working with all those adults who work with youth and those who implement parish and diocesan programs.
 
As we gather this day, open our minds and hearts to knowledge that will help us to serve you better.  And as we return to our parishes and schools, enable us to implement what we learn so that we can assist others in ensuring the safety of all your precious children.

Oración para la protección de los jóvenes
 
Dios cariñoso y misericordioso,
 
¡Te alabamos y te damos gracias por tus abundantes dones!  Te damos gracias por las oportunidades que tenemos para servirte cada día de nuestra vida.  Sabemos que todo lo que somos y todo lo que tenemos viene de ti.
 
Hoy en día, nos centramos en los preciosos dones de los jóvenes que se nos han encargado bajo nuestro cuidado.  ¡Nos llenan de alegría e inspiración y estímulo!  Sabemos que nos has dado una responsabilidad tremenda de proteger y cuidarlos igual como enseñarles tu camino.  Guíanos en todo lo que hagamos y en  todo lo que digamos, para que cada niño y joven pueda crecer con sabiduría y amor de ti.  Ayúdanos a crear un ambiente en el cual todos los niños estén protegidos de cualquier persona que quiera hacerles daño.
 
Como líderes de la parroquia, ayúdanos a convencerles a otros de la necesidad de asegurar la protección de los niños.  Guíanos a trabajar con todos aquellos adultos que trabajan con  los jóvenes y con  los que implementan  los  programas parroquiales  y diocesanos.

Mientras nos reunimos el día de hoy, abre nuestras mentes y nuestros corazones al conocimiento que nos ayudará a servirte mejor.  Y mientras regresamos a nuestras parroquias y escuelas, permítenos a implementar lo que aprendemos para que podamos ayudar a otros a asegurar la seguridad de todos tus preciosos hijos.
