What does it mean when a parish “Dovetail's”?
A "Dovetail" parish is one that has received permission to conduct a parish stewardship fundraising campaign concurrently with the Fruitful Harvest Appeal for a parish capital need.
Examples of parish capital need's:
Parish roof replacement
Adding classrooms
Electrical needs
New boiler
New parish
Parish structural damage repair
(the above list are only examples of some of the parish needs)
When a parish is granted "dovetail" status, the parish guarantees its full Fruitful Harvest goal. 100% of the overage of the parish goal is returned to the parish quarterly as soon as the parish goal has been reached and paid in full.
Example of monies returned to "Dovetail Parishes"
Parish Goal is calculated at $200,000.00. Total pledges in the parish are $325,000.00. The parish has received $320,000.00 paid of their $325,000.00 pledged. The parish has paid their $200,000.00 goal in full. The parish will then receive $120,000.00.
